Among those replaced are the heads of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA).
Police Service of Pakistan grade-22 officer Dr Suleman Khan has been appointed new director general of the IB, replacing Ehsan Ghani, a career police officer who was appointed to the post by caretaker government in June this year. Dr Suleman was currently serving as NACTA national coordinator at the Ministry of Interior. Before NACTA stint, he was serving as DG IB and was appointed by former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the last week of May this year. He has also served in FIA and played key role in establishing the counter-terrorism department in KP province, due to which he came close to the PTI leadership.
Senior police officer Khaliq Dad has been appointed as national coordinator of NACTA in place of Dr Suleman.
Board of Investment Secretary Jehanzeb Khan has been transferred and posted as FBR chairman. He belongs to Pakistan Administrative Service and is in grade 22. He faces the challenging task of revamping the FBR in order to eradicate corruption from the organization.
