GUJRANWALA: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Tuesday sealed two factories for using substandard material in the production of oil and yogurt and fined another 31 food outlets in a fresh crackdown against adulteration in food stuff in Gujranwala.
Reportedly, the PFA food safety teams raided on several factories and food outlets situated on Sialkot road and discovered unhygienic substances.
Meanwhile, notices were also issued to 81 shopkeepers for improving food quality.
Man killed, another injured by rival group over old ‘enmity’
A man was shot dead while another man sustained critical injuries on Tuesday over an alleged old enmity between two rival groups in Aroop area of Gujranwala.
Reportedly, assailants opened fire on Waris and Aman Ullah when they were returning back to their homes. Resultantly, Waris died on the spot, whereas Aman Ullah suffered severe gunshot wounds. They were rushed to the DHQ Hospital for medical attention. The Aroop police started investigation into the incident.
