The Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kazuyuki Nakane, would arrive in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan on the 30th of August.

During his stay, Mr Nakane would meet the new leadership of Pakistan including the Prime Minister, Imran Khan.

It would be the first visit by any country’s foreign minister to Pakistan since the new government took the reins on the 18th of August. After this visit, Iranian foreign minister and the United States of America secretary of state would be visiting Pakistan in the first week of September.

Mr Nakane would hold formal talks with his Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, at the Foreign Ministry which would be followed by the delegation-level talks.

“Matters of mutual interest as well as bilateral relations are on the top of his agenda of talks with the Pakistani leaders,” and an agreement for economic development assistance to Pakistan by the Government of Japan would also be signed during his visit, a spokesman of the Japanese embassy in Islamabad said.
