Author: Abdul Mateen Mahar

Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Parveen Shah on Monday held a consultative meeting with the deans of all faculties to examine the academic progress at the vice-chancellor’s secretariat of the university in Khairpur.

Reportedly, SALU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Yousuf Khushk was also present in the meeting to discuss courses’ content of the programmes being offered by the university, shed light on the critical issues of the faculties and collect feedback from the deans.

Meanwhile, the VC emphasised on the administrative role of deans and urged them to effectively plan academic activities of their respective departments in advance, and thus ensure completion of all courses in time.

He asked them to deliver quality education to students and take merit-based decisions for the interest of students and the university.

After much discussion, it has been decided that the number of teaching assistants/tutors in the university would be limited due to financial crunch, and instead permanent faculty members would be asked to assist the students.

Faculty of Physical Sciences Dean Prof Dr Mumtaz Hussain Mahar, Faculty of Natural Sciences Dean Professor Dr Mir Munsif Ali Talpur, Faculty of Social Sciences Dean Prof Dr Imdad Hussain Sahito, Faculty of Management Sciences Dean Prof Dr Syed Noor Shah Bukhari and Faculty of Arts and Languages Dean Prof Dr Ghulam Mustafa Mashori were present in the meeting.
