Bilawal stresses on importance of local governments

KARACHI: In a meeting with Provincial Minister for Local Government, Public Health Engineering and Rural Development Saeed Ghani, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP )Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the local governments uplift democracy by trickling down power at the lower level. The meeting was held at Bilawal house on Monday.

PPP chairman further said that local governments could transform the lives of the people by reaching the people at the grass-root level. He stressed that performance of local governments need to be improved down to the union council levels to facilitate the public. Saeed Ghani briefed the Party Chairman about role of his department in facilitating the local councils of the province to deliver facilities at the grass-root level and assured PPP chairman of required changes.
