Islamabad: The National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser today has summoned a joint session of the parliament on September 4 for the upcoming presidential elections.
The session will be held in the Parliament house in Islamabad at 10am.
Last week, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced Dr. Arif Alvi as its candidate for the president-ship while grand opposition has not yet decided on their candidate for this post.
Meanwhile, all opposition parties are expected to meet in Murree with former Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif in chair today.
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has chosen Aitzaz Ahsan as its candidate for the president’s post but it is still trying to consult with other political parties in order to gain their support.
