ISLAMABAD: AJK Minister for Forests Akbar Khan has a ‘unique’ plan to construct administrative and academic blocks for the women university Bagh; some 13 kilometers away from each other.

The Higher Education Commission has allocated Rs 880 million for the first phase of the campus, which is currently functioning in a rented building. Sources said the university administration with the connivance of the minister has made a plan to embezzle a major share of the funds as the vice chancellor wrote to HEC that the land had not been acquired so far. The VC sought permission to utilise Rs 400 million on the construction of the administrative block on six kanals of land in Hari Gahal. The HEC had selected the land for the construction of university, but the minister wants the university in Seu, which is 8km away from Bagh.
