PM Imran Khan visits Foreign Office

Islamabad: The Prime Minister Imran Khan visited Foreign Office today, where he was briefed by the officials on the duties and performance of Pakistani diplomats stationed abroad.

The foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, foreign secretary Tehmina Janjua and other officials received PM Imran Khan as he visited the FO.

The premier was briefed by the FO officials on the situation in occupied Kashmir as well as Pakistan’s relations with India.

The prime minister was also taken in confidence regarding the foreign policy of the country and relations with several countries including  Afghanistan, China, Iran, India and the United States.

PM Imran explained the FO officials his vision for Pakistan having relations with all the countries at the level of equality and issued guidelines.

He also stressed on embassies playing an active role in order to highlight Pakistan’s stance on the international level.

PM Khan is scheduled to lead a second meeting of the federal cabinet today which will focus on the future strategies of the new government in different aspects of life.

During the meeting, FO officials will brief PM Imran about the economic problems Pakistan is facing.

It is expected that the federal cabinet will approve annulations of Ministry of Capital Administration and Development (CAD) and will suggest putting institutions under it in Cabinet division.

It is expected that the Foreign Minister Qureshi will talk to a press conference in the evening to brief the nation about decisions taken during PM Imran’s FO briefing.
