Sir: Pakistan and China have expressed their commitment to further improve cooperation in matters of regional and international significance. The understanding came at the third round of Maritime Dialogue between the two countries in Beijing, in which bilateral ties were discussed. Additional Secretary Imtiaz Ahmad led the Pakistani delegation, while the Chinese side was led by Director General Asian Affairs, Wu Jianghao. The two sides expressed satisfaction over the current level of cooperation between the two countries. They held comprehensive discussions on the entire gamut of maritime cooperation, including bilateral cooperation and exchanges between the two Navies, cooperation in fisheries sector, maritime security, and science and technology. They also agreed to further deepen practical cooperation in relevant areas for the benefit of the two countries. It is pleasurable to observe that Imran Khan, after being elected as Prime Minister, has attracted the support of many countries around the world, and these good relations can be a source of development for Pakistan in the future.
