KARACHI: Soon after the blast at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) on Thursday declared an emergency in Hyderabad and Dadu District and called a comprehensive inquiry report on the blast from DIG Hyderabad.

The IGP also sought details about the police deployment in the area.

The IGP instructed Dadu SSP to cordon off the crime scene and collect solid evidence for the probe besides brining attackers and their facilitators to their logical end. He said that better treatment should be provided to the injured in the hospitals. He directed police officials to remain in touch with the hospitals’ administrations in this regard.

He said that raiding teams should be assigned special tasks for the search of the militants in surrounding areas and main roads. He also instructed the DIGs to ensure strong mutual coordination and make intelligence sharing collection effective at all levels.
