QUETTA: Three Pakistan Army personnel were killed when an improvised explosive device (IED), targeting an army convoy, exploded in Balochistan’s Awaran district on Thursday, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The deceased were identified as Captain Taha, Sepoy Kamran Satti and Sepoy Mehtar Jan. Two other soldiers were also injured in the attack, added the military’s media wing. Army personnel and other security forces reached the site of the incident and started an initial investigation. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Awaran is considered one of the most sensitive and troubled districts of the province. The district has witnessed regular attacks on security forces in the past.
