LAHORE: Following the recent increase in prices of petroleum products, opposition members Thursday submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly Secretariat against the decision.

The resolution was filed by Opposition Leader in the House Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed in the Notice Branch of the assembly secretariat.

The resolution has demanded the government to immediately withdraw POL price hike.
Separately, an opposition member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Amir Sultan Cheema has filed an adjournment motion in the assembly secretariat against ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s parliamentarian Talal Chaudhry.

Cheema has said in his motion that Talal Chaudhry of the ruling PML-N has illegally closed a transport terminal of his opponent company through his front named Munnay Khan.

The mover alleged that Talal Chaudhry had targeted his business competitors and got the licence of the transport company cancelled by using his influence.

He also levelled allegations against lawmaker, saying: “He [Talal] is also involved in extortion by collecting money from transporters of Faisalabad.” He appealed to the speaker to hold a general debate on the matter by accepting his motion.
