WASHINGTON: ‘Killer’s actor Ashton Kutcher won everyone’s heart and support at the hearing as he stated,’‘We were the last line of defence. An actor and his foundation were the potential last line of defence.
‘That’s my day job and I’m sticking to it.”

Ashton Kutcher has urged US lawmakers to make efforts to put an end to child sexual exploitation.
Ashton was present at Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Wednesday. He stated that it was time for both the society and government to defend the vulnerable ones.

Kutcher is the chairman of Thorn, an organisation that develops software, which helps in locating victims of abuse. “The right to pursue happiness for so many is stripped away, it’s raped, it’s abused, and it’s taken by force. Technology can be used to enable slavery, but it can also be used to disable slaver. Can we build the tools that are better than their tools to fight what is happening?”Kutcher stated.

According to sources, Kutcher mentioned that one of the tools that the organisation created, spotlight, helped in finding 6,000 victims in past six months. After a survey found that 63 percent innocent kids were being sold and bought online, Ashton Kutcher took the initiative to create this tool.

Ashton confessed that he aims to help the victims around the world after being affected by what he had seen and that, ‘nobody would want to see that’.

“I’ve seen video content of a child that’s the same age as mine, being raped by an American man, who was a sex tourist in Cambodia. This child was so conditioned by her environment that she thought she was engaging in play,” Kutcher stated.

He informed the audience present at the Ending Modern Slavery that his organisation has been approached by several authorities that want help in tracking online predators.

Senator John McCain thanked Ashton and joked, “Ashton, you were better-looking in the movies.” In response, Ashton blew a flying kiss to McCain.
