The caretaker government on Wednesday announced Eid holidays in Pakistan from August 21st to August 23rd.

“It is notified for general information that 21st to 23rd August 2018 (Tuesday to Thursday) shall be public holidays on the occasion of Religious Festival of Eid-ul-Azha,” said a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior yesterday. Earlier, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Monday confirmed the sighting of moon and announced that Eid-ul-Azha in Pakistan would be observed on August 22nd. Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in remembrance of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). Believers sacrifice animals and distribute the meat among the poor and relatives, followed by festivities and greetings.
