ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Marriott Hotel prepared a 71 feet-long cake to mark the milestone of 71 years of an Independent Pakistan. The delicious creation weighed a whopping 1000kg and comprised a delightful combination of vanilla, red velvet and chocolate fudge flavours. Prepared by the hotel’s executive pastry chef Ahmed Saeed and a dedicated team of eight people, the cake fashioned like the Pakistani flag, was completed over the course of 48 hours.

The hotel was festively lit with green lights to mark the occasion. School children from underprivileged communities of the capital, including Mashal Model School, SOS Village and Pakistan Sweet Homes, joined hotel guests and dignitaries at the hotel to celebrate.

“It was such a nice experience at this event today; our children are very happy to be participating in such events,” said Zeba Husain, director of Mashal Model School. “The day was celebrated in a well-organised manner, and we are very happy,” she added.
