Stringent security in KP ordered after series of bombings

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has asked the concerned administrative officers to keep vigil eye on maintenance of security and law and order in FATA and to ensure this, they must make coordinated efforts.

He was presiding over a high level meeting at Governor’s House, Peshawar on Friday which was attended by the provincial Chief Secretary, Abid Saeed, ACS, FATA, Fida Wazir, Principal Secretary to Governor, Sikandar Qayyum, concerned commissioners, all the political agents and the respective deputy commissioners.

The Governor especially desired to keep strict eye on miscreants. All the respective officers, he added, should remain within their administrative jurisdictions and apply their best ever abilities in fulfillment of their responsibilities.

The NIC verification oriented issues also came under discussion and the Governor desired that close liaison needed to be maintained to ensure resolution of justified complaints of the people.

The Governor also directed to ensure complete transparency in conduct of national census in the respective areas.

Meanwhile, the political agents and the other concerned officers apprised the governor about the law and order situation in their respective areas.

Earlier, the participants of the meeting offered Fateha for the eternal peace of departed souls of the martyrs.

Senior Minister for Irrigation and Social Welfare Sikandir Hayat Khan Sherpao said on Friday in the ceremony of district level reorganization of the party at Sherpao Charsadda that time has come that both government Pakistan and Afghanistan leadership sit together and chalk out ways leading to greater peace and tranquility of the both countries.

He said that people of the country want the peace at any cost and recent revisit of the terrorist activities has once against made the people in great resentment and tension for security.

Sherpao also lashed out at the central government for delaying tactic in the announcement of National Finance Commission (NFC) and asked its come to happen before upcoming budget. He stressed upon the party workers to spread the message of peace and democratic attitude in the masses and invest all their energy for creating a peaceful environment in the society for regional development.

All of the developmental schemes proposed by the provincial government were progressing at right direction and no one should have any doubt of present government role and performance.

QWP workers and leaders including Faqir Husain, Hamid Khan Turnagzai, Pir Rehman and other were also expressed their views and support the stance of its party leadership.

The central government and provincial level leadership of the political parties have to play its due role for sustainable development in the country and have to support all those step that could back the peace of the region as without peace society suffer a setback.

Smuggling: Customs authorities Friday foiled smuggling bid of mobile phones from Abu Dhabi at Peshawar Bacha Khan International Airport. The value of the seized mobile is stated to Rs 4 million in the local market.

According to details Customs Inspectors Qazi Zahid and Sohail recovered 28 mobile phones and two IPads from Mubarak Shah, a resident of Mardan, who arrived during wee hours from a flight EK 636.

The customs authorities took all cell phones and IPads into possession and confiscated them. The value of the each mobile phone in local market is Rs 120,000.
