LARKANA: Former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday condemned the Sehwan bomb blast in strongest possible terms and said such coward terrorist activities cannot keep devotees away from the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

He was talking to media at Garhi Khuda Bux after offering prayers and laying floral wreaths at the graves of Bhutto leaders. He said instead of closing the shrine, security should be further strengthened so that such terrorist acts should not take place.

“National Action Plan had not been implemented that was why such acts were taking place,” he said, asking Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to justify his position before the nation. Shah praised the efforts of COAS Bajwa after the incident, adding that the nation was standing with the army.

He said Sehwan incident could be a result of security lapse and urged the government to ensure the security of all shrines, including the Bhutto mausoleum.

Later, he came to the Accident and Emergency Center of Chandka Medical College Hospital in Larkana and inquired about the health of the injured. He directed Medical Superintendent Dr Javed Shaikh to provide all medicines and facilities to the injured on priority basis.
