PHA to decorate Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro track pillars

The Park & Horticulture Authority (PHA) has decided to decorate the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro track pillars and lease the cricket stadiums soon.

PHA Director General Saif Anwar Jappa while talking exclusively to Daily Times said three private companies have shown interest in the decoration of the metro track pillars. Sixty percent of the pillars will be painted with the historical places or cultural arts while the remaining 40 percent of the pillar will be used by the sponsored company for its advertisement. A meeting will be held today (Saturday) under the presidency of Rawalpindi commissioner to finalise the plan, he said.

PHA DG Saif Anwar Jappa said, tender notice to lease the cricket stadiums established in the playgrounds of the schools and parks will also be announced soon. In order to facilitate the students and general public, special terms and conditions will be added in the contract. Students of the concerned school will be allowed to play in the ground during their break timing while walking tracks will be constructed in all ground to facilitate the general public, he maintained.
