ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday approved a summary sent by caretaker PM Nasir-ul-Mulk and announced August 13 as the date for the new National Assembly session.
Nasir-ul-Mulk had on Thursday forwarded a summary recommending August 13 as the date to hold the new NA session. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq will preside over the session and administer oaths of the newly elected members.
Then, Sadiq will himself take oath as a member, which will be administered by a senior member. He will also oversee election of the new NA speaker, who will then supervise election of the deputy speaker and announce the prime minister.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claim to have 180 seats in the National Assembly out of 372. Party spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said that there was no obstacle in way of chairman Imran Khan becoming the premier.

Moreover, party leader Faisal Javed Khan said that Imran Khan will take oath on August 18.
PTI also claim to have simple majority in the NA as the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) also announced to support the party.
