KARACHI: The Al-Khidmat Foundation Sindh completed a two-day relief operation in Sehwan Sharif involving the provision of emergency first aid, rescue and post-disaster relief to the Sehwan blast victims.
As soon as the news about the blast was reported, a 100-member rescue team of the Al-Khidmat Foundation reached the explosion site and started shifting the dead and injured to hospitals in Sehwan, Jamshoro, Hyderabad and Nawab Shah through a fleet of the foundation’s well-equipped ambulances. Volunteers of the organisation donated blood to the injured and also distributed food parcels and other items among the attendants and grieved families.
According to Sehwan District Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Moinuddin Qureshi, the rescue operation by Al-Khidmat was carried out for two days in a row after the incident. The foundation worked in collaboration with Pakistan Army jawans and hospital staff.
Dr Qureshi said that to acknowledge the humanitarian role played by Al-Khidmat volunteers, Sehwan District Hospital has decided to award a special shield, as well as appreciation certificates to the Al-Khidmat Foundation.
