The petition was moved by the victim’s father through his lawyer Faisal Siddiqui.
The petition prayed to the high court to cancel bail granted to Anwar on the ground that it was decided without the consent of the plaintiff.
The bail was granted by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in a case pertaining to the use of illegal arms and explosives in the alleged fake encounter, which killed Naqeebullah.
In the 25-page verdict, it was maintained that available evidence did not establish the former Malir SSP’s presence at the crime scene when the killings took place.
According to the verdict, further investigations were needed to ascertain facts in the case.
