‘You are what you eat’

Putting on weight and aging are two of the most disastrous dilemmas we struggle with every now and then. Both the issues weigh equally in bringing down your self-esteem. We tend to differentiate between the two on different levels, but we fail to understand that the damage done is equally destructive on both the ends and what they share in common is a magical four alphabets spell –‘diet’.

While putting on weight doesn’t require much effort nowadays, aging is absolutely natural. Nobody can be immune to aging unless of course, you are Marvel’s Antman Paul Rudd. Let’s admit it; he looks exactly the same as he did about 15 years ago as Mike Hannigan in the Friends series.

Now that you know I am talking some serious business here, let’s take a second and ponder upon the fact where we are always told that ‘What matters about a person, is what is on the inside’. No puns intended but isn’t ‘inside’ supposed to be determined by your intake? We fail to realize how important our nutrition is and that ‘careless attitude’ further leads to the ‘suicide’ of our health.

Remember Jojen Reed from Games of Thrones? That’s Thomas Sangster whose 26 but hardly look like he’s 18. Or less. Let’s not forget about American Idol runner up David Archuleta, who made sure girls had a massive crush on him with his single ‘crush’ back in 2008. He is 26 years old too, but looks like a teenager nonetheless.

Celebrities all over the world have a similarity in common, that’s their ‘healthy diet’, which not only keeps them from aging drastically, but also staying in a slim shape all set to slay the red carpet.

Our bodies tend to put up with every phase of our life, in return, we owe our bodies the comfort of health.  Let us not ignore or compromise our health and take baby steps towards our motto, which is ‘eat to look younger and healthy’.

Want a glowing skin like the flawless ‘Emilia Clarke’, who looks so young and yet she’s the mother of dragons in Games of thrones. Eat tomatoes as they contain high lycopene content, which can reduce wrinkle depth after 15 weeks. Don’t forget to cook them with olive oil as that helps in the absorption of lycopene in the body.

How does ‘berries breakfast’ sound to you? Strawberries, raspberries, black berries, blueberries. All kinds of berries with yoghurt or as a smoothie. Delicious, isn’t it? ‘Snow White’ actress Lily Collin will be your perfect example. Berries contain antioxidants that can lessen joint swelling, soreness and keep you all fit and slim. Your skin will glow and cell damage is less likely to occur.

Garlic are mostly known to keep away the vampires but we present you a classic remedy for aging that has helps in regeneration of skin and tissues. Can we take a quick moment to admire Ryan Gosling for his dashing physique and dapper looks?

We assure you an acne free skin, no inflammation, thick, elastic and nourished skin. All of this can be achieved if you add a little fatty acid to your diet via seafood, especially fish item. It is an excellent source of 3 fatty acid and Vitamin E that serves as an antioxidant for the skin and protects the skin from harmful sun rays.  Zac Efron is totally fitting this category for his Baywatch looks.

Last but not the least, we would like to present you the magical Asian remedy which is a very traditional one. Any guesses? Turmeric it is.  It tends to help in healing purposes but at the very same time it has digestive properties that can help you stay in shape and fights cancer. Ever wondered why brides have that glow all over their face? It’s the ‘turmeric effect’ that keeps them young and beautiful. Mahira Khan maybe 32 but boys will never believe that because Mahira has maintained herself enough to slay the big screens.
