Sir: Cleanliness means satisfaction. To satisfy ourselves we should keep our environment clean. Being a Pakistani, it is our responsibility to keep our country clean and green. Littering remains one of the major issues around the world and especially in third world countries like Pakistan.
The common masses do not know how harmful littering can be for us and our planet. It affects our daily life, hygiene and health. Everywhere we move we find trash by our side. Even the well-educated people fail to realize that garbage they throw can be so harmful for others and the environment. People are throwing trash from their car windows which can be extremely dangerous for the planets as a whole.
It can all be changed if we just start by throwing the wrappers of chips or candy or anything else that we are consuming, in to a dustbin rather than on the street. “A small step for a big change”.
Earth would be a better place ifg we make this small difference in our daily habits. Our health could improve considerably, as littering can cause diseases like cough, vomiting, diarrhea, typhoid, skin diseases and other allergies.
To prevent littering, we can start with tiny steps like disposal of wrappers and other garbage in proper dustbins, avoid throwing garbage on our green areas, politely asking others to make an effort to stop littering, and educating our children at the school level to do the same. On the national level, we can prevent littering by focusing on the successful rule of Reduce, Use and Recycle. Stop littering, save the earth and be a part of the solution, not a part of pollution!
