MUMBAI: Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan will reportedly be making her Bollywood debut with the movie Student of the Year 2.

The character that Sara will portray had previously been given to Disha Patani.

Dharma Productions has yet to confirm it, though Saif Ali Khan recently revealed that his daughter was actually working with Karan Johar. During Rango’s promotions, he said he was very happy that Sara was doing what she wanted to do from the beginning. He added that they talk and argue and he gives his advice. However, in the end it’s always Sara’s decision.

He also admitted that he was pleased that Sara had the opportunity to work with Karan Johar because he had been a good mentor to newcomers. Praising his intelligence, he said Karan was a passionate filmmaker and understood films well, adding that he was very happy that Sara was working with him.

Disha was reportedly given the role as Tiger was keen to have her in the film. It would mean that this off-screen pair would finally have the chance to woo each other on-screen and that’s also interesting for the audience.

Producer Karan Johar and director Punit had agreed to recruit Disha as she had a pleasing personality and was confident on screen. However the news suddenly came out that the actress had been replaced by Sara Ali Khan, though the reason for her departure is best known only to the creators.
