Author: Online

ISLAMABAD: Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday criticised Western policies of staying aloof and not supporting the war against terror, remarking that it would only give rise to terrorism.

Participating in a panel discussion on countering extremism and terrorism at the Munich Security Conference 2017 he said ninety percent of terrorism victims are Muslims.

Khawaja Asif said Pakistan is in partnership with the whole world to wipe out the menace of terrorism.

He added that terrorism was not synonymous to any religion and terrorists were neither Muslims nor Christians but only criminals.

The conference was attended by officials from various countries such as the German interior minister, United States homeland secretary, Nigeria’s national security advisor and the European Union’s security commissioner. Senior government officials of various other countries also participated in the conference.
