More than 15,000 candidates participate in Pakistan’s biggest career counseling event

More than 15,000 candidates across Punjab have participated in Pakistan’s biggest engineering career counseling event titled Open Day on Sunday, which was organised by the University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore.

UET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Fazal Ahmed Khalid inaugurated the event.

The event provided information to participants about more than 22 undergraduate programmes under seven different faculties at UET’s main and satellite campuses, eligibility criteria, admission procedure, scholarships and fee concession.

Special stalls from UET Kala Shah Kaku, Narowal, Rachna and Faisalabad campuses were also set up on the occasion. Students have shown their keen interest in knowing last year’s merit of different engineering disciplines.

Speaking on the occasion, UET VC Professor Dr Fazal Ahmed Khalid said, “Proper career counseling plays a vital role in the professional growth and progress of individuals. The events like Open Day enable students to know about their potential, aptitude and prove very helpful in planning their career.”

He further said that the future of Pakistan depends on the challenging field of engineering and efforts are being made to improve and expand this sector of progress. UET is upgrading the academic and administrative departments to fulfill the dreams of youth so that technical education would be made easier and beneficially. Admission process for different programmes is entirely based on transparent merit policy only to strengthen the institution. Besides this, varsity is contributing for prosperity of the country by participating in different programs which needs the attention of youth.

The vice chancellor also appreciated the efforts of Professor Dr Asif Ali Qaiser, Dr Naveed Ramazan, Open Day committee members and other administration for organising a successful event with excellent arrangements.
