KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Ajmal Khan has assured that no student of KU will be deprived of applying for HEC’s PhD scholarships as all the data regarding different morning, evening and diploma programmes have been uploaded on the HEC portal.

The vice chancellor said that he took a serious notice of the news that KU students will be deprived of HEC scholarships due to the failure of KU administration to upload all the relevant data. He investigated the matter and it was revealed that former vice chancellor appointed a focal person to complete the job of uploading all the data. However, the focal person failed to upload the data and resigned before the deadline indicating that the data cannot be uploaded at such short notice.

“I took immediate notice of this emerging situation and appointed the KU’s Institute of Sustainable Halophyte Utilization Director Professor Dr Bilquees Gul as the focal person and instructed him to upload the data in the given deadline, which HEC has kindly extended for one week. Focal person and her team successfully uploaded all the data in the three working days and therefore all the students were now eligible for submitting their application,” informed the vice chancellor.

He also congratulated the focal person and her team for successfully completing this job in such a short time and appreciated their efforts.
