Anti-corruption Dept arrests three suspects over fraud, forgery

GUJRANWALA: The anti-corruption department on Sunday arrested three suspects for their alleged involvement in fraud and forgery cases in Gujranwala and Hafizabad, respectively.

Reportedly, a citizen Shoukat Ali filed an application with the anti-corruption department accusing Zulfiqar and Shaukat Ali of preparing a forged land deed of his plot situated at Khiali Shahpur area of Gujranwala, and subsequently transferring its ownership on their names fraudulently.

Meanwhile, another citizen Muhammad Sharif filed an application in which he alleged that his brother Muhammad Ameer had died and was unmarried, but the accused Noor Asia and Muhammad Khan prepared a bogus marriage certificate to occupy his property.

The certificate showed Noor as the wife of the deceased.

After conducting investigations into the matters, anti-corruption teams arrested Zulifqar, Shoukat Ali and Muhammad Khan.

Man dies, grandson injured by ‘electric shock’

A 55-year-old man was electrocuted to death while his grandson received severe injuries from an electric shock while allegedly taking a bath in Qila Didar Singh area of Gujranwala.

Reportedly, Hadayat Ullah, along with his grandson Ghulam Mustafa, was taking a bath when they felt electric current.

Resultantly, he died on the spot, whereas Mustafa was rushed to the DHQ Hospital in Gujranwala.

Man shoots, injures nephew over property dispute

A boy was allegedly shot by his uncle on Sunday over a property dispute in Ghakhar Mandi city of Gujranwala.

Reportedly, Kamran quarreled with his family members on a property issue, and in a fit of rage, he opened fire on them.

Resultantly, his 12-year-old nephew received bullet injuries, and was rushed to the DHQ Hospital.

Meanwhile, the area police started investigation into the incident.
