Two dead, five injured in cylinder explosion

Two people died and five were injured in a cylinder explosion in Shershah area of Karachi on Saturday afternoon, said rescue sources.

The rescue sources said that the explosion occurred in a warehouse in Shershah area, the city’s biggest market of used auto parts, where discarded motorcycle spares had been dumped.

According to the police, one of the deceased was identified as 22-year-old Muhammad Khalid, while the other, who was believed to be in his late 20s, was yet to be identified.

The injured persons were taken to the hospital soon after rescue teams reached the site of the incident. The explosion also caused damage to nearby shops and vehicles parked near the workshop.
