Sir, Political and religious alliances have apparently decided to forge unity in their ranks not for the motherland Pakistan but for giving a tough time to the new ruling party which has kept them out of the corridors of powers in fair, transparent and peaceful elections.
As a matter of fact this the first positive impact of the 2018 general election results of which seem hard to swallow for most parties. They have joined hands in the All Parties Conference, in less than a fortnight, to give new Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) and allies a tough time from both inside and outside the Parliament. The PTI leadership has not wasted a moment in welcoming this stance of the former ruling parties PML(N) and PPP and their allies and beneficiaries during last ten years.
According to the reports in the media, the parties who participated in the APC in Islamabad the other day have decided to put up joint candidates for the offices of the prime minister and National Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
The parties whose leadership gathered in the federal capital for the APC would have given better results had they forged unity in their ranks earlier and followed the golden principles of the Quaid-i-Azam i.e. Unity, Faith and Discipline which most unfortunately almost all of us have forgotten.
In the July 25 general election, people demonstrated an impressive turn out having voted for the change, for progress and development and prosperity and elimination of poverty and promotion of education and these are going to be achieved Insh’allah during the next five years.
