Lead prosecutor of Musharraf high treason case resigns

ISLAMABAD: The prosecutor in the high treason Musharraf case has resigned.

The prosecutor, Akram Sheikh’s resignation has been received by the Interior Ministry. He has apparently resigned from the case because of personal reasons. A new prosecutor will be appointed by the new government. Akram Sheik was made the lead prosecutor in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s  (PML-N) tenure.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has scheduled the hearing of the case on 20th August. T

he bench that is to hear the case is headed by Chief Justice LHC Muhammad Yawar Ali. The bench also comprises of the Balochistan High Court’s (BHC) most senior judge, Justice Tahira Safdar and Sindh High Court’s  (SHC) Justice Nazar Akbar.
