CJP takes notice of attack on schools in Chilas

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar has taken notice of the 12 schools attacked in Diamer, Chilas on August 3.

The Chief Justice has ordered the authorities to submit a report regarding the incident within 48 hours.

Two schools were attacked on August 3 in Chilas by extremists. There are reports that many schools were set on fire. The unidentified men thrashed 10 schools and afterward set the buildings on fire.

The terrorists used ammunition to blow up the buildings of two other schools.

Most of the attacked schools were girls’ schools.

The police has begun a search operation to locate the suspects. The Gilgit-Baltistan Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nisa Ullah Abbasi and Force Commander Major Saqib Mehmood are also in Chilas to oversee inspection.
