KARACHI: Milli Yakjehti Council, Sindh has strongly condemned the suicide attack at Sehwan Sharif and has demanded the government take solid measures instead of simply providing lip-service. Addressing a press conference following a meeting, MYC Sindh President and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Deputy Chief, Asadullah Bhutto (Advocate), said the attack on the shrine was actually an attack on Islam. It was a conspiracy to fan the flames of hatred and difference among various sects within the religion, he added.
He held the government and government departments responsible for the attack. The continued reign of terrorism, despite billions of rupees spent on institutions in order to curb this threat is blatant evidence of the government’s incompetence.
Asadullah Bhutto also condemned what was reported as the inappropriate handling of human organs in the aftermath of the blast. He appealed to the masses to observe next Friday as a day against terrorism. He also urged prayer leaders to shed light on terrorism in Friday sermons. The Namoos-e-Risalat Conference would be held on a provincial level by the end of the outgoing month.
The representatives of all sects have already supported the National Action Plan (NAP) and added that the government will have to step down if it did not implement the NAP in letter and in spirit. Representatives of all religious parties attended the meeting as well as the press conference.
