ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) delegation on Friday met Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan at his residence of Bani Gala and assured their party’s support for government formation in Centre.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed for the formation of a new government in the centre.

It was decided in the agreement that Karachi operation would be reviewed after consultation with all the stake-holders.

According to the agreement, PTI will also favour the MQM-P’s petition filed in the Supreme Court with regard to local bodies system in Sindh.

The MQM-P delegation comprised of Amir Khan, Faisal Subzwari, Waseem Akhtar, and Kunwar Naveed Jamil. The MQM-P has already engaged in successful meetings with PTI leaders Jehangir Tareen and Arif Alvi to join the federal government.

MQM-P Chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said he came to Bani on Imran’s invitation.

The MQM-P chief announced that they would join PTI in the centre and also that they had no desire to join Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) in Sindh.

In July 25 polls, MQM-P got 16 Sindh Assembly seats and six National Assembly seats.
