LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar has reverted his initial suo moto notice ordered the Punjab IG to independently investigate the case pertaining to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) MPA elect Nadeem Bara’s assault on two officers.

The CJP has issued the warrant for the arrest of the MPA elect earlier. In the case hearing today, he was informed that all suspects were arrested and currently on remand. Nadeem Bara’s lawyer argued that the firing did not occur in Bara’s Dera and the police unjustly arrested him because the SP had a personal grudge against Nadeem Bara.

The CJP also said that he has full trust in the Punjab IG’s abilities and is confident handling the case over to him.
