Board of Revenue’s land leased out on fake signatures

KARACHI: It seems that the menace of fake signatures on official documents is increasing day-by-day, the stenographer of the Board of Revenue has leased out at least four acres of land with fake signatures of Senior Member Board of Revenue, Daily Times ahs learnt.

According to sources, the stenographer namely Badar Mangrio in connivance with his Section Officer Yar Muhammad Bozdar issued an intimation letter for four acres precious government land situated in district Malir to a private person namely Illahi Bux in return for heavy bribes.

The intimation letter issued by the Board of Revenue contains fake signatures of Senior Member Board of Revenue, who is also the Chief Secretary Sindh Rizwan Memon, sources added.

The sources further disclosed that the stenographer issued the intimation letter in Deh Kathor of Malir district without getting it verified from the Treasury office. The law clearly states that the intimation letter for lease of land shall be issued with proper verification from the Treasury Branch of the Revenue Department.

“The Supreme Court of Pakistan has already banned all kind of leases, sub leases, transfers of state land a few months ago however the powerful officials of the Board of Revenue are continuously violating the apex court’s orders”, sources said.

When contacted, Section Officer Yar Muhammad Bozdar told Daily Times that the signature on the intimation letter was genuine as the chief secretary, who also holds the charge of Senior Member Board of Revenue Rizwan Memon has himself signed the letter.

It is recalled here that the Chief Minister’s Secretariat had also detected few letter containing fake signatures of Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Naveed Kamran Baloch in appointment as junior clerks in the revenue department.
