KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders on Thursday claimed that stamped ballot papers were recovered from a school in Karachi’s NA-247 constituency.

The former PPP senator and newly elected MPA Saeed Ghani said that children found ballot papers under the desks at the polling station after they returned from the summer vacations.

The school is located in Karachi’s Gizri area where the PPP leader Abdul Aziz Memon was contesting for the NA-247.

Ghani told that out of total 154 ballot papers 118 were stamped on “arrow”, and none of them was stamped on “bat”.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate had won the NA-247 seat securing 91,020 votes while the PPP candidate was second with 19,552 votes.

PPP leader Murtaza said that the ballot papers were stamped with PPP symbol ‘arrow’.

The resident of Gizri Farman said that those who do not have a single local bodies Chairman in NA-247, they have swept. “I am curious to know how Arif Alvi managed to secure 90 thousand votes when they have lost all there chairmen & counselors in LB polls,” said Farman.

A footage doing rounds on social media is also showing PPP protesters showing the stamped ballot papers retrieved from the polling station.
