The chief secretary noted that irregularities could not be tolerated at any cost and strict disciplinary action should be taken against defaulters. He sought a report within three days on the matter.

“The consensus and coordinated efforts should be undertaken by all stakeholders of services belonging to nation building departments that were aimed at increasing prosperity and development of the country as a national task,” he said, asking authorities at the Fisheries Department, KFHA and FCS to follow a balanced and mutually agreed policy to boost role of the harbour so that its income could be enhanced.

The Chief Secretary stressed the need to accord coordinated efforts by all stakeholders concerned, aimed at evaluating institutional framework in the larger national interest. He also advised the managing director of the Korangi Fish Harbour to cooperate with the Karachi Fish Harbour.

The affairs of service delivery, capacity line of action, auction system, computerisation of transaction and auction proceeds and vigilance and monitoring were also discussed for improvement.
