He said that there is a lot of potential in women and “our mission is to provide them the enabling environment in every field of life and ample opportunities for bringing about a vibrant change in the economy of the country”.
On the occasion, the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2017-2018 was also discussed. Atta Muhammad Khan said that for the purpose of having an aggressive media campaign in order to bring the entire stakeholders including civil society, non-governmental organisations, community-based organisation etc at one page is the need of the hour.
The meeting was attended by Women Development Department additional secretary, Punjab Commission on the Status of Women and other officers of the department.
Additional secretary Arshad Baig gave a detailed presentation on the main issues like women rights, their laws and policies along with other issues. Furthermore, the additional secretary briefed that the department has conducted training sessions all over Punjab to make women more aware of their rights and laws in civil society.
