Army satisfied with efforts for peace in Afghanistan

Pakistan Army on Wednesday expressed satisfaction on progress of military-level engagements with Afghanistan for regional peace, especially through Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Stability, a press statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

The 212nd Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi reviewed geo-strategic environment, regional peace and internal security situation of the country. Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who presided over the meeting, directed commanders to continue consolidating the gains against terrorism and militancy.

The COAS appreciated efforts of army elections support centre and field formations for assisting the Election Commission of Pakistan as per assigned mandate for conduct of general elections in the country. The forum paid tribute to all martyrs and injured who sacrificed their blood during the process. The conference also thanked people of Pakistan for their participation and wholehearted support for the armed forces during performance of their duty towards the national cause.
