Okara: A woman was subjected on Wednesday to an acid attack allegedly by her husband in Talha Town area of the city.
The victim, identified as Sobia Bibi and a mother of five, was attacked after she had a heated exchange of arguments with her husband on a family dispute.
He allegedly threw acid on her face and body and fled the scene, the police said.
According to the police, the survivor suffered burns on 60 percent of her face and 40pc of her body. After the incident, Sobia was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was referred to Lahore owing the serious condition, the police added.
The police teams conducted raids to arrest the suspect Salman but could not trace him so far.
A case has been lodged against the suspect at the Okara Sadar police station.
