Unidentified men throw acid on two women over alleged domestic dispute in Sialkot

SIALKOT: Unidentified men on Tuesday evening threw acid on two women near Awan Chowk on Sarwar Road, the rescue authorities and law enforcement agencies reported.

Two women identified as Iqra (19) and her maternal aunt Salma (45) were coming back home when unidentified men on two bicycles stopped them and threw acid on them.

The victims were immediately moved to the district hospital while the attackers managed to flee.

The police reached the site of the incident and are still searching for the perpetrators.

According to the initial investigation, Salma’s daughter wanted to opt for a marriage of her own choice which led to a dispute with Salma’s son-in-law, the acid attack incident is said to be related to this domestic dispute.

A first information report (FIR) was subsequently filed in this regard and further investigation is still underway.
