Pak Army rescues Russian mountaineer stranded at Baifu glacier

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army rescued a Russian Mountaineer who was stranded at Baifu glacier for three days.

The Russian Mountaineer was stranded at the glacier since 25th July and all seven rescue attempts had failed. However, the Army Aviation team rescued the mountaineer who was trapped at a height of 20,650 ft. He has been transferred for medical treatment in CMH, Skardu.

This was the first rescue operation conducted by the aviation team at such height.
