Injured PPP workers are being targeted by police: Bilawal

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that his party workers who were attacked and maimed during election campaign were being targeted by the police.

The PPP Chairman stated this while visiting an injured and under treatment PPP worker Mohammad Siddiq Mahesar who was shot at and wounded along with another party worker on polling day in Mehar. Injured Mahesar is admitted in Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Trauma Center in Karachi.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that complaints had been received that FIRs were being lodged against the injured PPP workers with no proper investigations of the attacks.

PPP Chairman demanded that the culprits who attacked PPP workers in Dadu, Mehar, Tharparker, Jacobabad, Khairpur and elsewhere in Sindh be caught and brought before the law.

Chairman PPP was accompanied on his visit by former Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Saeed Ghani and other party leaders. Several PPP workers were attacked and injured in Dadu, Mehar, Tharparker and Jacobabad. One worker was killed and many others were wounded in different armed attacks in Khairpur.
