NAUNDERO: A gang of robbers on Monday looted Rs 700,000 from a cloth merchant in Naundero.

Reportedly, Kelash Kumar was on his way to his shop when robbers threw ‘Halim’ on his clothes.

They snatched his bag containing Rs 700,000 while he was busy cleaning his clothes, and managed to flee from the scene.

He informed the area police about the incident, but so far the officers were unable to find them.

Meanwhile, the office bearers of local trade association called an emergency meeting in which they expressed serious concerns over law and order situation in the district.

“Crime rate has increased to such an extent that the police officers seem helpless in controlling it,” they said, adding that the officers did not perform their duty properly.

They appealed to the Inspector General of Police, deputy inspector general of police of Larkana and the provincial government to take notice of the crime activities and adopt effective measures accordingly.
