Today marks the 45th birthday of the versatile and dapper Bollywood singer, Sonu Nigam. The Times of India gave him the title of Lord of the Chords. He is one of the most celebrated singers in music industry of India. He gave many hit songs for the people to enjoy and cherish such as Satrangi re, Kal ho na ho, Suraj hua madham, Abhi mujh mein kahin and many more.

Let’s see some of the lesser known facts about Sonu Nigam that most people are not aware of.

  1. He performed for the first time on stage, at the age of three and sang Kya hua tera wada.
  2. He knows many regional languages. He can sing in Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu, English, Bhojpuri, Nepali and Marathi with great enunciation.
    Sonu Nigam’s first film debut was in 1983 in the film Betaab as a child actor.
  3. In 2006, he had a radio show to himself on Radiocity 91.1 FM titled Life Ki Dhun, where he interviewed many renowned musicians such as Lata Mangeshkar.
  4. He has dubbed many animated Hollywood films in Hindi such as Aladdin and Rio.
  5. He has also sang a song produced by famous international house music producer David Guetta in collaboration with Jay Sean. He collaborated with Britney Spears on a remix of her I Wanna GoHe also collaborated with Avicii for the track Indian Levels.

The singer has given back to back many hit songs that have earned him immense respect and fan following. He is loved and cherished by many people worldwide.
