Islamabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has commenced investigation against two former chairmen of Capital Development Authority (CDA) for alleged corruption in the construction of a restaurant and acquiring government land illegally.
According to sources, a special team of FIA and CDA, including FIA Deputy Director Ahmed Ali Afani, Directorate of Municipal Administration’s Rahim Khan and Building Control’s Adalat Shah visited La Montana Restaurant located on Margalla Hills on Monday.
Sources said the restaurant has occupied the government land and violated the building codes.
Sources said that a case would be registered after the completion of investigation.
The restaurant belongs to former president Pervez Musharraf’s right hand Dr Amjad.
Dr Amjad, through his allegedly influence occupied the land when the inquiry was kicked off in CDA regarding the allotment in this regard then the officers were allegedly bribed.
According to sources, this inquiry had been laying unattended in CDA since many years.
FIA has again started the investigation so that it could determine the responsible including CDA’s officers who allotted the land for restaurant and exceeded their powers.
