Justice Siddiqui removed from bench

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been removed from a bench due to hear Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supremo Imran Khan’s disqualification case, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.

A new bench by including Justice Mian Hassan Aurangzeb has been constituted to hear the case. Justices Siddiqui and Amir Farooq were part of the original bench that had given the PTI chairman till August 1 to file a reply.

Former chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry had moved court for Imran Khan’s disqualification in line with the provisions of Article 62 of the constitution. Chaudhry, who now heads a political party, has pleaded that the PTI chief had lied about his daughter Tyrian. Therefore, according to him, he was not sadiq and ameen.
