Park retrieved from land mafia opened for public

A public park that was previously occupied by land mafia was opened for general public on Sunday after the illegal occupants were evicted on the directives of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General Samiuddin Siddiqui.

According to a statement issued on Sunday, Samiuddin Siddiqui after receiving a complaint from a citizen regarding illegal occupancy on a park in Gulistan-e-Johar, issued directions to director Parks and Recreation. After that, relevant officials began operation for eviction on said parks.

Director General KDA while the performance of Parks and Recreation department said that KDA was committed to creating a safer and healthier environment to the citizens. “We are playing our part to evict all the play ground and parks in city of illegal occupants so citizens can benefit from these facilities,” said Samiudding Siddiqui.

The issued statement mentioned that Siddiqui had visited the park and issued directions to concerned staff to make all the required arrangements for citizens. Director Parks Warial Undhar, Deputy Director Parks Arif Ahamed, Executive Engineer Gulistan Johar Ghulam Muhammad, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Serwar and other officers accompanied the KDA director general on his visit.

The park in question is located in scheme 36, Block 14, Street 8, Gulistan-e-Johar.
