Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir who is also the chairman Budget Advisory Council FPCCCI said that Imran Khan’s success in last Wednesday’s elections was reflective of the immense confidence he enjoyed among the people. He further added that Imran Khan’s victory was an indication of appreciation of the meritorious, dedicated and devoted service that he had been rendering in various capacities and fields including politics, parliament, education, health, sports and philanthropy.
The SVP while expressing his confidence in the incoming government said that Imran Khan was fully aware of the problems and issues the masses and the business community faced. Praising Imran Khan he said, “The one single factor that has earned Imran’s party a landslide victory in these election is people’s recognition of his untiring struggle, relentless efforts and unshattered resolve to weed out the rampant corruption as an anti-corruption crusader.”
Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir, also recalled Imran Khan’s political journey which began in 90s. “Imran’s journey is an incredible lesson in tenacity, belief and refusal to accept defeat,” he added.
The FPCCI SVP also hailed the first victory speech delivered by Imran Khan as the prime minister in waiting. He termed it ‘mature, balanced and encouraging.’
He hoped that Imran Khan, once he assumes charge, would steer the country out of the multi-faceted challenges being confronted by it. He explained that problems that deserved immediate attention included balance of payment, fiscal and debt sustainability, energy challenges and corruption. He further remarked that there was a dire need of making the management of public sector entities better, ensuring transparency, increasing the ease of doing business, reforming tax administration, reviving manufacturing sector and enhancing access to finance.
The SVP on behalf of the FPCCI, which is an apex trade body of Pakistan, also assured Imran Khan of his best cooperation and assistance in initiating business friendly economic and commercial polices. He wished Imran Khan success in fulfilling his new responsibilities and converting the dream of making new Pakistan into a reality.
